The EA FC 25 closed beta is expected to go live before the game's official release, but when will it start, and how can you get a code?

EA FC 25 is still months away from being released, but despite no EA FC 25 news being officially revealed by EA Sports, EA FC 25 hype is starting to build, with some new features being leaked online. Before EA FC 24 and every FIFA title since FIFA 14, EA released a closed beta, allowing players to gain access to the game early.

Not only does this let players have a first look at the new game, but it also allows EA to receive feedback, making sure the game is in top shape before going live worldwide. But, only a select few are given access to the EA FC 25 closed beta, and despite there being no way to guarantee an invite, there are ways to boost your chances.

EA FC 25 closed beta: release date

Based on the EA FC 24 closed beta, we expect the EA FC 25 closed beta to go live on or around August 8, 2024 before ending on August 31, 2024. Closed beta codes will be sent out in two batches – one when the beta goes live, and another halfway through.

How to get EA FC 25 closed beta code

Now, there's no way to guarantee yourself an EA FC 25 closed beta code, but there are some steps that you need to follow to give yourself the best chance possible of receiving a code. Firstly, the closed beta is only available on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, so if you're on PC, Nintendo Switch, or play on old gen, you won't be able to access it.

The most important step is making sure that you have given EA consent to contact you via email, otherwise, there's no possible way for the publisher to send you the code. If you haven't already given consent or just want to double check you have, then head over to your EA account settings on EA.com and head to the 'Email Preferences' tab.

From there, simply tick the box that allows EA to get in touch with you regarding products, news, events, and promotions. It would be a travesty that you are selected to get a code, but you haven't allowed EA to give it to you!

On this same tab, you'll find a preferred games section. To increase your chances of being selected for the closed beta, select EA FC 24 and as many FIFA titles as you can as preferred games as well as selecting your preferred platform, then click update. Having these as your preferred games will help increase your chances of EA sending you a code for the newest EA Sports FC title.

Also, make sure that your Xbox Live or PSN account is linked to your EA account by checking the 'Connections' tab in your EA account settings. Unfortunately, only certain people can receive an invite after completing the above steps due to some of the requirements for the closed beta. The requirements are as follows:

  • Players must be at least 18 years old
  • Your Xbox/PS account must be from the UK or North America
  • You must have a working internet connection
  • You need an active subscription to either Xbox Games Pass or PS Plus

The EA FC 24 closed beta will only be available in English, so only players from the UK and North America can receive invites. Only invited players will be able to access the game, meaning codes can't be shared, so if you're offered a beta code for a fee, don't accept!
