3 teens, 2 adults in custody after police pursuit in Parkway Village, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Three teens and two adults are in custody after a police pursuit in Parkway Village, police said. 

Memphis Police Department (MPD) found a car in the 1700 Block of Getwell at 2:00 p.m.

According to MPD, the car they found was a stolen suspect car in multiple robberies. 

Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop by putting out stop sticks, police said. 

The car fled and MPD pursued the car but stopped the pursuit when the car entered opposing traffic on Interstate 240, police said. 

Additional officers saw the stolen ca exit I-240 and Getwell and swipe another car before coming to a stop, police said. 

Four suspects got out of the car and fled while one other suspect stayed in the car and was taken into custody, police said. 

Police used K9 and Aviation assistance and was able to locate all suspects and detain them, police said. 

According to police, three teenagers and two adults are in custody. 

One teenage suspect was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition from a injury they got during the foot pursuit, police said. 

Police stated another teenager was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition for a medical injury that was not related to the pursuit. 

An officer was injured during the pursuit and was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition, according to police. 

Charges have not been filed as of now, police said. 

MPD is conducting an investigation that has left the eastbound ramp from Getwell onto I-240 closed, police said. 

MPD is asking drivers to take an alternative route, police said.
