CCTV has captured the dramatic moment a gunman opened fire on a rival gang member and blasted him in the leg and foot in an open car park.
Tyjon Cogger drove a stolen Ford Kuga to the scene next to Farmfoods in Smethwick, West Midlands, allowing Saabir Mohamed to get out and shoot at the man.
The victim, who had tried charging Mohamed down with a baseball bat, was dropped off in an Audi at City Hospital with gunshot wounds but he refused to tell police what had happened.
However, officers conducted a major trawl of CCTV and tracked the Audi back to Cape Hill Retail Park where CCTV captured the shooting in the early hours of October 23 last year.
It was further revealed that the incident had been in retaliation for Cogger's friend being stabbed around 24 hours earlier shortly before midnight on October 21.
That victim had also been taken to City Hospital where he was targeted again.
A group of males turned up in a Mitsubishi armed with baseball bats but fortunately police were already at the scene and the hospital was forced into lockdown.
An investigation into that incident remains ongoing and there was no evidence to suggest Cogger and Mohamed were present.
But following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court the pair were held responsible for the subsequent shooting.
Cogger, 22, of Church Avenue, Dudley, and Mohamed, 26, of Thomas Crescent, Smethwick were cleared of attempted murder but found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
They will be sentenced on October 3. Police established after the shooting the Kuga was driven away from the scene and the defendants got into a Mercedes which Cogger was caught refilling with fuel on petrol station CCTV.
Det Ins Francis Nock, from West Midlands Police's Major Crime Unit said: 'Officers worked extremely hard to piece together what happened and spent hundreds of hours reviewing CCTV footage.
'It is down to their hard work that we identified Cogger and Mohamed and brought them to justice.
'These men are dangerous and are now rightfully behind bars, making our streets a safer place.'
The force stated the convictions fall under Operation Target which combats serious and organised crime across the region.
