Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. A BUST Review

Director George Miller returns to the post-apocalyptic world he originally crafted back in 1979 with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the long-awaited prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy as the rage-fueled Imperator Furiosa, the Max-less action pic follows a young virago as she endures the trials and tribulations that mold her into the gallant, gutsy grand dame of the Wasteland.

Chris Hemsworth puts down Mjölnir to play against type and step into the villainous role of Dementus, the leader of the Wasteland biker horde responsible for snatching young Furiosa from her idyllic childhood within the Green Place. A power-hungry egotist with a sadistic streak a mile wide, Dementus proves to be a powerful foe for Furiosa and a major factor in her origin story.

Furiosa once again plunges action lovers back into the world of the Wasteland, bringing back the characters and places that create the memorable no-man’s land of George Miller’s devastating vision of the future. Furiosa’s astonishing tale of revenge meshed with the high-octane set pieces fans have come to expect from Miller create an unforgettable narrative that showcases the unbound talents of both the actors and the filmmaker.
