Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, a woman called 911 saying that she and her friend were being shot at, and that her friend was the ex-girlfriend of the shooter. While on the call, dispatch heard gunfire in the background.

DCSO said deputies located the suspect in a car in the parking lot of a Taylor's at 2685 Red Banks Road North and tried to pull the car over, but the suspect drove off down Highway 78 toward Marshall County. Deputies ended their chase near exit 26 after the car hit over 120 mph.

The car turned around on the highway when Marshall County deputies resumed the chase, DCSO said. The chase ended near the DeSoto/Marshall County line when the car wrecked into the median and the driver bailed on foot. DeSoto County deputies arrested him without any further incident.

The driver is being charged with multiple felonies through DCSO and is also a possible suspect in an armed robbery in Shelby County.
