The IU Health Foundation has launched its “All the Difference: The Campaign for Indiana’s Health” in west central Indiana. The campaign, part of a statewide fundraising effort, “supports a multi-pronged approach to make Indiana one of the healthiest states in the country.”

The campaign is designed to fund IU Health hospital-based initiatives to help Hoosiers avoid and treat illness and injury. Programs addressing social factors that contribute to poor health will also be eligible to receive funding.

With a statewide campaign goal of $200 million, funds will be applied towards cardiovascular care, workforce development, cancer care, orthopedics, neuroscience, infant and maternal health improvement.

“IU Health is committed to making Indiana healthier, but we can’t do it alone,” Gary Henriott, chair of IU Health Foundation’s board, said. “Achieving this vision will require all of us who care about west central Indiana to come together.”

Organizers expect the campaign to run through 2027. Donations are being accepted from both individuals and institutions.

“Philanthropy empowers IU Health to think innovatively, to stretch further, to accelerate implementation, to take the risks that lead to breakthroughs,” IU Health Foundation President Crystal Miller said. “Philanthropy ensures that no Hoosiers need to look outside their home state to access the very best care.”

Indiana currently ranks in the bottom 10 for state government public health spending, IU Health said.
