Students from Colorado Mesa University (CMU) embarked on a transformative journey to El Salvador, delving into experiential learning opportunities in Grand Junction's sister city, El Espino, and beyond.

A delegation of Grand Junction residents, including CMU students and faculty members, visited various sites in El Salvador to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the sister city relationship.

Hosted by the Foundation for Cultural Exchange (FCE), the travelers stayed with local students who benefit from the FCE scholarship program. They engaged in cultural activities, visited schools, and explored neighboring communities.

Exploring History and Art:

In the capital, the group delved into the country's rich history, paying homage to figures like Saint Oscar Arnulfo Romero and delving into the legacy of the civil war. They also met with renowned artists and filmmakers, gaining insights into Salvadoran arts and culture.
