British-Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has publicly declared her support for the Labour Party ahead of the general election in the United Kingdom on July 4, 2024.

Explaining her reason for endorsing the opposition party rather than the ruling Conservative Party, the music star stated that “sometimes a change is necessary.”

Cuppy called on her UK fans to consider voting for the Labour Party on Thursday, adding that their votes matter.

She took to her social media to share photos of herself holding a placard with the inscription ‘Vote Labour’.

In the caption of the photo, she wrote: “While it’s unlike me to pick a side (and yes, no political party is perfect), sometimes a CHANGE is necessary! …In the UK, your voice actually matters, so GET INVOLVED this Thursday! #CuppyDat #GeneralElection2024 #GE2024 @UKLabour.”

Today, the United Kingdom goes to the polls to determine the next government of the country.

Her post has attracted several reactions from social media users:

mr_r0b07: Lool Labour. The same change Buhari promised is coming to the UK. Labour literally went back on all the promises they have made, lied through their teeth on a lot of issues, and finally has someone that cannot say that according to international law, starving people including women and children aren't allowed.

teetemlady: I have been thinking of who to vote for but seeing this I’m convinced now because I know you know better cuppy

menthur79: For the first time I will be voting in UK, and yes I am voting Labour, not because I know what the candidate is offering but because we need a breath of fresh air.

gmck6301: I hope it’s better than the “change" voted for in Naija when Buhari got in lol

dr_chidominica: Whatever cuppy says that’s who we are voting for.

calmischarm: I heard, with Labour, life would be harder for not-rich people. Prices of things would be higher, they say.

cashi_____: I am voting Labour! I don’t trust Reform
