The Federal Government through the Ministry of Regional Development, was Delta State for distribution of palliatives to flood victims in the state.

The Permanent Secretary Dr. Shauib Belgore was represented by his Technical Assistant, Dr Nasamu Oluwatoyin Yakub who unveiled the items which include bags of rice, bags of beans , grinding machines , and so many others. 

He stressed that Federal Government is committed to providing relief and support to all flood victims in Delta State, and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that all affected communities receive the necessary assistance .

A statement on Sunday said that in his speech, Mr Ndiomu Ebiogeh Philip, Director in charge of the project , who represented the Minister, Engr. Momoh, stated that the items supplied are at the instance of the deep love and concern of Mr. President for the people of the Niger Delta over the damages caused by the recent flood in the Region.

Mr. Ndiomu further said that the items distributed are expected  to cushion the devastating effects of the flood on the lives and livelihoods of the people.

Present at the occasion were government officials , and Community leaders .

It would recalled that the ministry was also in Rivers and Bayelsa States for palliatives distribution late last month. 

This iniatiative is part of the government’s efforts to those affected by the recent flooding in the region, the statement said.
