Late Mrs. Patricia Okafor Of ABS Buried At Amagu Village Nsugbe

Amidst sober atmosphere, the management and staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, joined family and friends to bid a final farewell to a colleague, Late Mrs. Patricia Okafor, at Amagu Village Nsugbe, Anambra East Local Government Area, whose life was tragically cut short.

The funeral Mass held at St. John Catholic Church Nsugbe to honour the deceased offered opportunity to reflect on her impact in the lives of those who knew her.

Aged fifty-nine, Late Mrs. Okafor was a staff of the Administration department of the ABS.

Condoling with the family, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, said the deceased was a beacon of kindness and humility.

The ABS boss, who was represented by the Acting Deputy Director, Engineering department, Engr. Paul Okoye, encouraged the family to stay strong and take solace in the good name their mother left behind.

In separate interviews, the Director of Administration, Lady Tina Ekenta, Director of Programmes, Mrs. Nneka Ekwunife and the Director News and Current Affairs, Mrs. Judy-Jeff Nwabueze spoke warmly of the Late Mrs. Okafor fondly called “Nwanyi Chin-chin”, pointing out that she was not just a co-worker; but a sister and friend.

Speaking to the ABS in an interview, one of the children of the deceased, Mr Emmanuel Okafor, expressed grief over the death of their mother at a time they least expected.

He described his mother as a woman of love and humility, praying that God gives them the heart to bear the loss.
