‘Competition promotes academic excellence’

Chairman National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Uvwie Interschool Activities, Delta State, Montessorian Ojigho,  said competition promotes academic excellence and behavioral development in learners.

She said this at the 2024 Mathematics Olympiad and Spelling Bee competition organised by the NAPPS, Uvwie Chapter.

“The event showcased the potential of the next generation, instilling hope for the future of the country,” she said.

100 pupils from various schools participated in the competition.

The event, held on Thursday at Cherish Montessori Cambridge Academy in Enerhen, Effurun-Warri, brought together over 100 pupils from different schools to demonstrate their academic skills.

The competition was fiercely contested as pupils showcased exceptional abilities in word formation and mathematical problem-solving.

Winners emerged across various categories including primary 2, 3, 4, 5, and junior secondary school levels in both spelling bee and mathematics Olympiad.

Cherish Montessori Cambridge Academy clinched first place in the primary two spelling bee category, while Adonai Royal Schools emerged top in the primary five Mathematics Olympiad, among other winners. Their pupils were awarded medals, trophies, and prizes.

Chairman of NAPPS Uvwie Chapter, Pastor Paul Esene, expressed satisfaction with the pupils’ impressive performances and assured that the competition will continue to be a regular event.

He commended the children’s outstanding achievements, describing the event as a resounding success.
