At least two people were injured in a Sunday night shooting on Bourbon Street, New Orleans police say.

The double shooting came less than 24 hours after a woman was killed in another French Quarter shooting and less than 48 hours after another violent attack nearby.

Police were called to the 600 block of Bourbon Street at 7:01 p.m., according to a NOPD press release. Police say confirmation was received at 7:18 p.m.

Both injured people suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Police say at least one victim was transported to a local hospital.

In an earlier shooting, a woman was killed after she was shot around 4:42 a.m. in the 700 block of St. Peter Street.

The shootings occurred less than a mile apart.

In another weekend act of violence in the French Quarter, a man was arrested Saturday after he was accused of hurling a brick through a window and attacking a man with a railroad spike.

That incident happened around 1 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Decatur Street, which is less than half a mile from the Sunday double shooting.
