South American football confederation ADMIT costly referee mistake – Vinicius Jr should've won penalty kick
CONMEBOL (the South American Football Confederation) have confirmed a referee mistake made in the Copa America game between Brazil and Colombia.
Brazil should've been given a penalty kick after Vinicius Junior was brought down in the box.
This referee blunder was probably costly as Brazil have only shared the spoils with Colombia, 1-1. They've advanced to the quarter-finals from second place in their group, having to face challenging Uruguay side in the next stage.
Had Brazil topped the group, they would've faced Panama next.
