Panic As Gunmen Kill Bank Worker In Edo

It was gathered that the deceased received a call while in office apparently from a friend who invited him for a hangout in a joint.

An employee of a modern bank, known only as Mr. Nosa, was reportedly murdered in Benin City, Edo State by suspected cult members.

Daily Post reports that the incident happened after the close of work last Thursday at Government Reservation Area, GRA, Benin City.

A source, who spoke on the incident on condition of anonymity, alleged that the deceased, while on his way to the place, was waylaid by the assailants, who immediately opened fire on him.

He said the victim was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.

“Yes, the Command confirmed it; it is an unfortunate incident. But as I speak, the matter is under investigation,” the Police spokesman said.

He assured that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
