At least four people were rushed to the hospital in critical condition Thursday night following a car crash on the Lower East Side, police and fire officials told News 4.
Details around the incident are still developing, but FDNY and NYPD spokespersons said at least half a dozen people were struck near Water Street and Jackson Street around 9 p.m.
Four of those hurt were in critical condition and rushed by medics to a downtown hospital. Two others, whose injuries were serious to minor in nature, were taken to a separate hospital, according to the FDNY.
One person of interest was in police custody, sources confirmed to News 4. The circumstances around the incident are still under investigation.
