USA-based Nigerian pugilist Efetobor Apochi has called on the WBA to grant him a title shot, describing himself as the most dangerous boxer in the cruiserweight division, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

“Oh, WBA boxing official, could you please kindly grant me my shot? Efetobor Apochi is still the most dangerous cruiserweight in the world. They see me, they run,” the 36-year-old with two losses in 14 professional fights wrote underneath a video on his Instagram page on Thursday, which showed him running uphill in a bush path.

After losing two fights via split decisions, Apochi bounced back on February 16, securing a knockout win over Lucas Pontes Da at Whitesands Events Centre, Plant City.

The Federal University of Technology Owerri alumnus has regained his confidence and has been issuing warnings to prospective opponents in the division.

“Man’s world in its every detail is his imagination pictured. Our life is our consciousness pushed out,” the man nicknamed Nigerian Pitbull recently stated on his social media handles.

He called out all cruiserweight rivals in a subsequent post: “Who’s next in line for Efetobor Apochi, the Nigerian Pitbull? Promoters, you all might want to put down that coffee and pay attention to Apochi. He wants to show you all that he’s the real boss in the cruiserweight division. Yeah, he’s practically begging for a challenge from the top dogs out there. So, what are we waiting for?”

After winning laurels for Nigeria at the amateur level, Apochi turned professional in 2017 along with his friend and heavyweight prospect, Efe Ajagba. He took the cruiserweight division by storm with a knockout win over Daniel Mejia Hernandez at Mechanics Bank Arena, Bakersfield, California, U.S., on July 30, 2017. He followed that with ten knockout wins, firing a stern warning at prospective opponents in the
division.
