Former Tottenham striker Harry Kane has opened up on Jude Bellingham’s antics before the England captain scored from the penalty spot for Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Kane’s Bayern side faced Bellingham’s Real Madrid in their Champions League semi-final first leg at the Allianz Arena with the game ending 2-2.

Vinicius Junior gave Real the lead before Leroy Sane and a Kane penalty put the hosts ahead.

But a Vinicuis penalty levelled the match with less than 10 minutes remaining, leaving the tie finely balanced going into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu next week.

And Spurs’ record goal scorer has admitted he was unaware of what Bellingham was trying to say to him before he stepped up to score his spot-kick for Bayern. The striker admits it was likely that his England international teammate was trying to put him off.

“I don’t know what he was saying. I saw him mumbling something,” Kane told TNT Sports.

“Once I’m in that moment, I’m in my zone, trying to block everyone out. I’m sure he was saying something to try to put me off.”

Kane has enjoyed a fantastic goal-scoring campaign in Munich since joining from Tottenham last summer.

The 30-year-old has scored a career-best 43 goals in all competitions this season.

However, his performances have not been able to prevent Bayern from missing out on their first Bundesliga title in over 10 years with Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso coming out on top. They were also knocked out of the German Cup to third-division side Saarbrucken.

But the Englishman will still have a chance of ending the campaign with silverware if the German giants see off 14-time winners Madrid in their Champions semi-final second leg.

The winners will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium on June 1.
