The anticipation is high for the upcoming action thriller Kill, hitting theaters on July 5, 2024. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill promises to be “the most violent film made out of India,” full of intense action sequences and a gripping storyline.

The film features Lakshya as Army Commando Amrit, Raghav Juyal as Fani, and Tanya Maniktala as Tulika. The story revolves around Amrit’s mission to stop the forced engagement of his love, Tulika, by boarding a train. 

However, things take a dark and violent turn when a gang of 40 dacoits board the train. Amrit is thrown into a brutal fight to protect Tulika and her family, offering an adrenaline-fueled experience with high-octane action sequences reminiscent of the John Wick series.

As the release date of Kill approaches, fans of violent action-packed films can indulge in several Indian movies and series with similar themes. 

Mirzapur 

Mirzapur is a critically acclaimed crime thriller series streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Shweta Tripathi, the series explores the lawlessness and power struggles in the fictional town of Mirzapur. 

The story revolves around the mafia boss, Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), and the chaos that ensues as rival gangs vie for control. Known for its raw and intense portrayal of violence, Mirzapur shares the same dark and gritty tone as Kill. In addition, the streaming giant is currently gearing up to release Mirzapur Season 3.

Sacred Games

One of the most popular Netflix productions, Sacred Games, is a crime thriller series based on Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name. The series follows the lives of a troubled police officer and a powerful gangster whose paths cross in the chaotic world of Mumbai’s underworld. Additionally, the series features Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Radhika Apte, among others. With its complex characters, dark narrative, and gory scenes, Sacred Games offers a compelling viewing experience similar to Kill.

Animal

One of the most talked-about and successful movies of 2023 is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. It is a crime drama that revolves around Ranbir Kapoor’s character, who becomes a gangster embroiled in a web of violence and betrayal when his father gets shot. What follows is an exploration of themes like vengeance and loyalty. It is similar to the relentless pursuit to be seen in Kill. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor. 

Delhi Crime Season 1 & 2

Delhi Crime, a Netflix series, is based on real-life incidents and features Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi. Season 1 focuses on the nationwide known case of Nirbhaya. Whereas, season 2 focuses on a series of brutal crimes by the Kachha Banyan gang that shook the city of Delhi. 

Moreover, the show provides a gripping narrative with a strong emphasis on police procedural elements and intense character development. Like Kill, Delhi Crime offers a thrilling experience with realistic and hard-hitting storytelling.

Gangs of Wasseypur

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Gangs of Wasseypur is a two-part crime drama film that has garnered cult classic status over the years. The film chronicles the power struggles and revenge saga between warring mafia families in the coal-rich town of Wasseypur.

Furthermore, the cast of this two-part franchise features Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Richa Chadha, and others. All in all, Gangs of Wasseypur is a must-watch for those interested in raw and unfiltered storytelling, much like the anticipated experience of Kill.

Pushpa: The Rise 

Directed by Sukumar and featuring Allu Arjun, Pushpa: The Rise is an action-packed film. It takes place in the rugged terrain where a smuggling syndicate operates. Moreover, the story follows Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun), a coolie who rises to power. Pushpa: The Rise is a must-watch for fans of high-energy action films like Kill. 

From recent blockbusters like Animal and Pushpa: The Rise to iconic series like Mirzapur, there’s plenty to keep viewers pumped as they await the release of Kill.
