Two arrested with stolen cars and guns in multi-agency Tulsa crime crackdown

TULSA, OK (KTUL) — Tulsa police arrested two men who were allegedly caught with stolen cars, guns, and burglary loot.

According to officials, on June 22, the Mingo Valley Street Crimes Unit received information on a white Kia stolen from Edmond. On the same day, a FLOCK camera captured the vehicle around 9:30 am at Pine and Memorial.

Investigators said the Kia was found and recovered six days later at the Cobblestone Apartments near 51st and Memorial.

On July 1, Edmond police reportedly contacted the MVD Street Crimes Unit about other auto thefts and burglaries where firearms were stolen.

Officers found an F-150 stolen from Edmond and a blue Hyundai stolen from Bixby. The stolen vehicles were both found inside Silver Spring Apartments.

According to the Tulsa Police Department (TPD), Eder Zamora-Hernandez and Guillermo Rodriguez were arrested as they were trying to get into the stolen Hyundai in the parking lot in an attempt to leave.

TPD Rodriguez backed into an officer's vehicle while trying to get away.

Both were taken into custody. The suspects are believed to be connected to the thefts of all three vehicles.

Officers recovered the following from the stolen Hyundai and an apartment connected to the suspects:

  • Nine firearms (at least two reported stolen)
  • Burglary Tools, including masks and gloves
  • Thousands of dollars in stolen loot, including purses, sunglasses, and cellphones.

Zamora-Hernandez and Rodriguez were arrested for the following:

  • Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, 3 counts
  • Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony
  • Conspiracy to Commit a Felony
  • Known Possession of Stolen Property
  • Possession of Burglary Tools
  • Possession of a Stolen Credit Card
  • Drug Possession, including Prescription Drugs
  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon
