City defeated relegation battling Nottingham forest at City ground by 2-0 Courtesy of goals from Gvardiol and Erling Haaland.

Gvardiol headed home the first goal of the campaign in the 37th minute.

Erling Haaland who was introduced in the second half latched on to a pass from Kelvin De Bruyne wriggled through two defenders before slotting the ball past Nottingham goalie with his right foot for City’s second.

The result leaves Nottingham Forest in the relegation zone while City maintain its second position behind Arsenal but with a game in hand.

Earlier, Arsenal again recorded another win in back to back North London Derby after defeating host Tottenham Hotspurs by 3-2.

Mikel Arteta’s side moved one point clear at the top of the log.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg glanced Bukayo Saka’s corner into his own net inside 15 minutes for the Gunners’ first of the afternoon, the England forward then crowned a sweeping counter-attack with a smooth finish for the second after 27 minutes.

Spurs, who saw Micky van de Ven’s goal ruled out for a marginal offside with the score 1-0, were infuriated as they claimed Leandro Trossard had fouled Dejan Kulusevski before Saka scored, and were even more frustrated when the unmarked Kai Havertz headed in Arsenal’s third from another corner seven minutes before the break.

Upon resumption of the second half, Raya gave Spurs hope by sending a clearance straight to Romero.

An unlikely comeback seemed on when Son scored from the spot but Arteta’s side were able to close out the game, denting their arch-rivals’ hopes of a top-four finish.
