ABUJA – Senator Abba Moro, the lawmaker representing Benue South in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly on Friday insisted that the federal government, and the Benue State government must collaborate to end continued herdsmen killings in his Senatorial Zone.

Senator Moro’s Apa, Agatu and Otukpo local government areas have come under attacks by suspected herdsmen leading to the destruction of lives and property.

A situation the lawmaker frowns at, calling on both the federal and state governments to end the carnage.

He maintained that he can no longer guarantee the continued patience of victims who have been waiting for the government to come to their aid.

According to him, “the victims have been pushed to the wall and will resort to self-help if help does not come to them immediately.”

This is as he also condemned the recent Sunday and Friday killings in Ogbaulu Community, in Agatu local government area.

He says the unprovoked attacks which resulted in the gruesome murder of five armless villagers on their farms are unacceptable.

He called on security agents to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to book.
