Canelo Alvarez likely to pick between two unbeaten boxers for next fight and date may change to avoid clash with UFC
Canelo Alvarez's next fight is reportedly moving closer to being confirmed.
Last time out, the Mexican superstar successfully defended his undisputed super-middleweight world titles against Jaime Munguia on Cinco De Mayo weekend in May.

His next fight is traditionally expected to come on September 14 (Mexican Independence Day weekend).
However, things have been fairly quiet regarding Canelo's return in recent weeks.
Now, ESPN Mexico reporter Salvador Rodriguez has reported that the date may end up being pushed back a few weeks.
This would avoid a clash for Canelo with the UFC event Dana White is staging at the Sphere in Las Vegas on September 14.
Rodriguez has also reported two potential opponents in the frame for Canelo.
One of these is Eddie Hearn's charge Edgar Berlanga.
The 22-0 (17 KOs) Puerto Rican contender is Canelo's WBA mandatory challenger and has been calling for a shot for months now.
However, he would be a significant underdog in the contest.

The other potential opponent is Jermall Charlo, who boxes for Al Haymon's PBC.
Jermall's twin brother Jermell Charlo was beaten by Canelo in an underwhelming affair last year.
Jermall is 33-0 (22 KOs), but many believe his best days could be behind him.
The American is a two-weight former world champion, but spent a long time out of the ring dealing with injury and mental health issues.
In the end he did not fight for over two years - between June 2021 and November 2023.
Charlo finally returned with a win over Jose Benavidez Jr late last year, though his performance did not inspire confidence that he could topple Canelo.
The main man most fans want to see get a shot is David Benavidez.
However, the 29-0 WBC mandatory challenger does not appear to be in contention, with Alvarez fully aware of how tough a challenge he would pose.
