Human Rights Activist commends NDLEA Boss

A member of the United Nations Human Rights Committee and the state coordinator, Centre for the Defense of Human Rights and Democracy in Africa ( CDHRAD) Mr Modestus Eziem has commended the Chairman of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) , Brig – Gen Buba Marwa in his patriotic zeal in the fight aganist trafficking of drugs and other narcotics in the country.

He said that since the ex- Military Administrator of Lagos state assumed the office of chairman of the NDLEA, that the fight against Drug trafficking has become more vigorous and proactively as a result of his patrotic leadership .

In statement by Mr Modetus Eziem, the Imo state Coordinator of Centre for the Defense of Human Rights and Democracy in African, at the weekend said:

” The fight against Drug trafficking in the country has become more vigorous and proactively too, since the appointment of Gen Buba Marwa as Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,
His honest dedication to his duties has led to the arrest of high profile Drug Barons as there are no longer sacred cows which is a result of his determination to rid the country of illicit drugs.

He added, “He has always acted within the law and upholds the rights of everyone. We as a human Rights organisation commends his efforts in this difficult task of fighting the drug Traffickers and by so doing making our people safe especially the youths.”
