COAS distributes clothes, foot wears to 400 less privileged children in Zamfara

As part of efforts to enhance civil military cooperation, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen TA Lagbaja, has distributed clothes and foot wears to 400 less privileged children in Gusau, Zamfara state capital.

The commanding officer 1 brigade Gusau, Brig. Gen. S. Ahmed, who represented COAS during the event held at Yariman Bakura specialist hospital Gusau said, “the event is part of the Army Day where quick impact projects have been observed by the Nigerian Army to vulnerable host communities in the state.”

The Chief of Army Staff stated that the gesture was accorded to the host communities in Kebbi and Zamfara states affected by banditry.

According to him, “medical consumables and writing materials have been distributed to some selected primary and secondary schools and hospitals in Zamfara state during the Army Day.”

He further lamented how the activities of informants who are abating terrorists with the military movement as the factors that sabotage the military operations in Zamfara and the entire states affected by banditry in the Northwest.

Lt. Gen. Lagbaja urged the good people of Zamfara state to always support the military by providing information about terrorists movement and act of informants for quick response.
