Welcome to our Lanarkshire Live page featuring all the latest updates as general election votes are counted in the area’s eight constituencies.

Counting began at 10pm at both Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in North Lanarkshire and John Wright Sports Centre in South Lanarkshire after polls closed for the thousands of voters selecting their new MPs.

Results will be declared at Ravenscraig for the seats of Motherwell, Wishaw & Carluke, Airdrie & Shotts, Coatbridge & Bellshill and Cumbernauld & Kirkintilloch.

In South Lanarkshire, the returning officer will declare the results in the three constituencies of Hamilton & Clyde Valley, Rutherglen and East Kilbride & Strathaven.
