Manchester City have shown in the past that they aren’t against signing players from fellow Premier League clubs.

In fact, the previous summer transfer window saw the Blues sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea and Matheus Nunes from Wolves.

Prior to that, City have landed deals for the likes of Jack Grealish, Nathan Ake and Kalvin Phillips from other sides in the top flight.

In the midst of another summer transfer window, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding another Premier League star the Manchester club have their eyes on.

Man City could target Mohammed Kudus this summer

A recent report from Caught Offside has claimed that City could look to sign West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus if Kevin De Bruyne decides to leave the club this summer.

The report also adds that Pep Guardiola and City’s directors are big admirers of the Ghanaian, who is not currently considering leaving the East London club.

Kudus shone in his debut Premier League season

Back in August, West Ham secured a £38m (via Sky Sports) deal to sign the 23-year-old, who recently named City striker Erling Haaland as one of the best players he’s ever faced, from Ajax.

Across his debut season with the Hammers, Kudus appeared in 45 games across the Premier League, Europa League and Carabao Cup, scoring 14 goals and delivering six assists along the way.

In fact, his final goal of the season came in the 3-1 defeat to City at the Etihad Stadium on the last day of the Premier League campaign where he scored an impressive overhead kick goal.

Having also made more successful take-ons (124) than any other player in the division last season, it’s easy to see why the Hammers star has caught Guardiola and City’s attention.

In our view, if De Bruyne were to end up leaving the club this summer, launching a move for Kudus could be a smart and very exciting move for the Citizens to make.
