Troops ‘kill 14 gunmen’ during raid in Borno forest

Troops of the Nigerian Army (NA) have reportedly killed 14 Boko Haram terrorists during separate raids on their hideouts in the Sambisa forest in Borno.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the operation was conducted by troops of Operation Hadin Kai and Hybrid Force on June 29.

The publication said the operation was targeted at a Boko Haram terrorist group in Garin Ba’Abba village in Bama LGA of the state.

The troops destroyed the camps of the insurgents, forcing them to flee in different directions.

In a separate operation, troops reportedly killed four terrorists during a raid in Dipchari village located in Bama LGA.

An intelligence source told the publication that the troops carried out the operation on June 24.

Zagazola Makama added that the operation was successful as the troops did not record casualties or injuries.

Recently, the troops raided Sambisa forest and rescued 41 women and 57 children, including a Chibok girl and her children.
