The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal presided over by Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Judge, Delhi High Court, will hold sitting at Bombay High Court on June 25 and June 26 from 10 am onwards to hear evidence in pursuant to the ban on SIMI.

A public notice has been sent by the tribunal, in which anyone who wants to give any evidence should file his affidavit and on the above mentioned date appear for cross-examination before the tribunal at the Bombay High Court.

The tribunal earlier this year extended the ban on SIMI for another five years under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

A notification in this regard dated January 29, 2024 was released earlier by the central government. The central government had declared SIMI as an unlawful association first in 2001. Prior to this, the organisation’s ban was extended in 2019.
