LASU Research, Innovation Fair: Directorate Kicks Off Sensitisation Exercise Ahead Of 2024 Edition

LAGOS – The Directorate of Research Management and Innovation, Lagos State University (LASU) has embarked on a sensitisation visit to the Lagos State University College of Medicine, Faculties, Schools, Busary and Registry Departments of the University, in preparation for the highly anticipated 6th LASU Research and Innovation Fair.

The visit, led by the Director, DRMI, Prof. Adejuwon Adeneye, along with members of the Central Planning Committee (CPC), took place on Monday, 1st July 2024.

It commenced with interactions and engagements at the Faculty of Management Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The sensitisation visit is aimed to inform and engage the Faculties about the upcoming Fair scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 8th and Wednesday, 9th October, 2024, at Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Hall, Lagos State University, Main Campus, Ojo.

The Fair promises to be a remarkable gathering of researchers and innovators.

During the visit, Prof. Adeneye expressed his gratitude to the Faculty of Management Sciences (FMS) and the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) for their invaluable support in pre” Chvious Fairs, while also appealing for an even greater level of involvement this year.

He provided a step-by-step guide to the registration process and assured a seamless experience for all participants.

Reflecting on the success of past Research Fairs, Prof. Adeneye emphasised his optimism for an even better and more outstanding Fair this year.

He extended his appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello mni, NPOM, and the entire management team for their unwavering support, which has made it possible for the university community to consistently participate in such transformative events.

Adeneye revealed during the visit that the Fair will be graced by the presence of distinguished individuals, including the Special Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker, Rt. Hon Mudashiru OBASA, as well as other esteemed guest speakers who will share their wealth of knowledge and expertise with the participants.

He reiterated that the LASU Research Fair serves as an interactive platform for groundbreaking inquiries across a wide range of topics, catering to the interests of Academics, the General Public, as well as addressing issues that impact our daily lives.

The Deans of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Akanji Bankole, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Adigun Lawal expressed their gratitude towards the University Management and the Directorate for their continuous efforts in positioning Lagos State University at the forefront of Research and Innovation. They pledged their unwavering support to ensure the success of the Fair.

The sensitisation visit proved to be highly informative, with attendees actively participating in a question and answer session, where necessary information was shared and valuable suggestions were given.

The visit continues tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd July 2024, with the Faculty of Science, School of Transport and Logistics, and the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
