Adjekimoni Community Urges NDDC To Bring Back Road Contractor To Complete Work

The Adjekimoni community in Sapele LGA, Delta State, has appealed to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to bring back the contractor handling the road project in the area to complete the work.

The road project, which was initiated by the NDDC, has been abandoned for several months, leaving the residents in a state of discomfort and hardship. The community, has been plagued by poor road infrastructure, making it difficult for residents to access basic amenities.

Speaking to newsmen, Mr. Emma Utaka, a resident in the community, expressed the community’s frustration with the abandoned project. “We are disappointed and frustrated that the road project has been abandoned for so long. The contractor stopped work several months ago, and we have been left with a half-finished road that is causing us a lot of hardship.”

Utaka appealed to the NDDC to intervene and bring back the contractor to complete the project. “We are begging the NDDC to bring back the contractor to complete the road project. We need a good road to access our homes, and bring business opportunities for us. The current state of the road is affecting our daily lives and economic activities.”

Utaka also expressed concern about the deplorable state of the road, which has damaged lots of vehicles. We are worried that if the project is not completed, it will continue to pose a threat to our lives and properties, because, whenever it rains, the road is usually flooded.”

Residents of Adjekimoni community feel that they deserve better infrastructure. “We are not asking for too much. We just want a good road that will make our lives better. We are calling on the NDDC to come to our aid and complete the road project,” Utaka said.

The NDDC has been urged to take immediate action to complete the road project and alleviate the suffering of the Adjekimoni community. The commission must ensure that the contractor returns to site and completes the work to avoid further delays and hardship for the residents.
