Report: Group of Super Eagles Players “Unhappy” with Finidi

Notably, Real Sociedad’s Sadiq Umar, alongside at least two others, reportedly expressed frustration over a lack of playing time under Finidi’s leadership.

Despite withdrawing from the last Africa Cup of Nations under contentious circumstances, Sadiq was an unused substitute for the friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

The striker’s discontent reached a peak as he reportedly declined a handshake from the Coach after the Ghana match, storming off the field.

While it remains uncertain whether the rift between the disgruntled players and the coach has been resolved, some senior members of the team, like Kelechi Iheanacho and Kenneth Omeruo continue to express satisfaction with Finidi’s leadership.

Umar Sadiq, who has struggled to find form both domestically and internationally this season, boasts minimal contributions of three goals and one assist in 25 matches for Real Sociedad, along with a solitary goal in ten appearances for Nigeria.
