Netizens descend on Gov Ododo, Faleke over alleged misappropriation of Kogi funds

Ripples Nigeria 2024/10/6

Social media users in Kogi State have descended on Governor Usman Ododo and member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, over an alleged connivance to misappropriate state funds.

Using a trending hashtag !#kogirejectsfalake, the Kogi netizens accused the duo of engaging in underhanded dealings with erstwhile Governor Yahaya Bello to defraud the state.

They also accused Faleke of involvement in financial impropriety and hindering the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)’s arrest and prosecution of Bello months after he was declared wanted.

To set the ball rolling, a user with the handle, @Idijele wrote:

“ODODO Bello’s Cousins, Chief of Staff Bello’s Son, 4 commissioners Bello’s uncles/family members, AG of the state Bello’s family, Revenue Boss is also Bello’s Uncles. How do we ended up with such rascality in the corridors of power? Justice must prevail!” #kogirejectsfalake

@Ikebuya said:

“This is worse than the state capture Wike attempted in Rivers State. I don’t understand how we are so docile as citizens and allow these individuals trample upon us. It’s so so sad.”

@Idijele came back to say:

“Kogi Central is controlled by PDP under Natasha, the fake promises ODODO and Faleke and giving to @PBATMediaCentre @officialABAT will not save APC in the Ebira dominated Central come 2027. BVAS justice for Kogi people.”

@MajiIsah said:

“Ododo will park Kogi money and take it to @honfaleke to be jointly looted.”

“No amount of manipulation can change our minds against planned actions to stop Faleke and his cronies in Lugard house. Kogi stands strong against Faleke and Ododo. The people’s decision is final.”
