GEORGE NEWS - The Conville police are searching for a suspect after a shooting incident in Peddie Muller Street, Conville, on Wednesday 3 July at about 17:30.

According to provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, it is alleged that a group of men armed with pangas, were parading the street when they were chased away by community members who retaliated. 

The group, one of whom was carrying a firearm, allegedly returned and shot at the community members, wounding a 28-year-old man in thigh. 

The victim was hospitalised. Police have opened an attempted murder case.
