Ondo, Ekiti states to partner for economic, tourism development

The governments of Ondo and Ekiti have agreed to work together to develop their respective states’ economic, tourist, and security potentials.

The commissioners for regional integration in the two states made the pledge on behalf of their governors, after a meeting in Akure, Ondo State capital.

Ekiti State was carved out of the old Ondo State on the 1st of October, 1996, by former Head of State, the late General Sani Abacha.

The State Commissioner for Regional Development and Intergovernmental Affairs, Akande Kareem is here in Ondo state to form synergy with his counterpart and seek better collaboration for development.

His host, Boye Ologbese, who is in charge of Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, said the meeting became necessary for the two states to share ideas and work for the development of their people.

Ologbese said Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Biodun Oyebanji are working tirelessly on partnership for economic growth.

His Ekiti counterpart said the visit will cement harmonious relationship between the sister states.
