Harry Kane’s name continues to appear among famous footballers without a league title despite his big move to Bayern Munich. The Bavarians’ dominance in the Bundesliga was halted a few weeks ago when Bayer Leverkusen beat all odds to win the Bundesliga title.

In this article, we take a look at five famous footballers without a league title, including Antoine Griezmann and Steven Gerrard.

1. Harry Kane

We start out list with current Bayern Munich star Harry Kane. The England international is just unlucky. Kane is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world and has been delivering for the past several years. He has won the Premier League Golden Boot and dozens of individual awards but can’t get his hand on a silverware.

After an unsuccessful spell with Tottenham Hotspur, Kane signed with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich hoping to win a league title. However, Bayern who have been dominating the Bundesliga have failed to win the title this season, which means it’s another campaign without a league title for the 30-year-old.

2. Antoine Griezmann

It might come to a surprise to many that Antoine Griezmann is one of the famous footballers without a league title. Griezmann has been one of the most entertaining players to watch in Europe and has enjoyed spells at FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Despite both teams winning the La Liga in recent years, the Frenchman has missed it. He thought he had his chance to finally win a league title after securing a transfer to Barcelona in 2019 but it never worked out for him as Atletico Madrid went ahead to triumph while he was away.

He returned to Atletico afterwards but they failed to defend the title which has since been won by Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are the defending champions. His case has just been of being at the right place but at the wrong time.

3. Steven Gerrard

The name Steven Gerrard often pops up when the discussion is about the greatest midfielders of all time. The former England international spent almost his whole career at Liverpool and despite the Reds being one of the most successful teams in Europe, he never won a league title with them.

Gerrard’s most famous disaster moment in English top flight football came during the 2013-14 season when he slipped and gifted Demba Ba the ball, allowing the former Chelsea man to score the opener in a match the Blues ended up winning 2-0. Liverpool fumbled in the match again hence failing to capture the Premier League after being at the top of the table and showing signs of being champions.

Nevertheless, Gerrard boasts winning the prestigious UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Cup, one UEFA Super Cup and two FA Cups.

4. Fernando Torres

Former Spain international Fernando Torres was one of the best strikers in Europe during his early career days. He destroyed opposition defenses while playing for Atletico Madrid and Liverpool. Unfortunately, he couldn’t lead any of the two teams to a league title win.

Torres wasn’t at his best during his time at Chelsea and even though he won the UEFA Champions League, he never clinched the Premier League while playing for the Blues. Other teams he played for and still failed to capture a league title are Italian giants AC Milan and Sagan Tosu.

Nevertheless, Torres will be proud of his trophy cabinet which has the Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup, two European Championships and one FIFA World Cup.
