Having endured a long battle with cancer dating back to 1976, her health had significantly declined over the last few years. With all the adversity she faced, she remained in good spirits with a positive attitude and enjoyed every moment spent with her family.

Sheila attended the schools of Randolph County and had obtained her GED in 1982. She had worked for Reidboard Brothers and Snowshoe, but most of all, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo and sewing. She worked the polls during elections for many years. She was a real people person, but her real love was for her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored. She was Pentecostal by faith.
