Obidients attribute UK Labour Party win to Obi’s rallying call

Ripples Nigeria 3 days ago

Supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, popularly called Obidients, have attributed the landslide victory of the UK Labour Party candidate, Keir Starmer, over Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, to the call by Obi on Nigerians resident in the UK to vote for Starmer.

Prior to the UK elections on Thursday, Obi had made a post on X calling on eligible voters to rally behind Starmer and vote out Sunak.

And with Starmer defeating the sitting PM in a landslide victory, the Obidients clan believe their man contributed to the win.

A post on X by the Peter Obi Grassroots Movement on Friday set the tone for the adulation.

“HE Peter Obi, is not only a Tsunami! He’s also a global symbol of good leadership. Once he called twice, Nigerians in the UK answered yesterday. Thanks so much our people.

Other supporters quickly toed the same line:

@HonShield said:

“Peter Obi in an unusual manner publicly asked voters to vote the Labour Party in the UK. Some who couldn’t see far decided to deride him for that tweet.

“Unknown to them, the man PO has done his calculations well and understands this is a looong game against 2027.”

@ChiefObi wrote:

“I pray they keep underrating PO. Let’s see how it goes. They are thinking 2027 will be like 2023. Sunak has fallen, Biden and Macron will follow suit and the business won’t be as usual regarding rigging in Nigeria and getting international backing!”

@IOnwuachusi said;

“Many don’t know that Peter lived in the UK from a very tender age and has a good understanding of the workings over there.”

@Firstladyship also chipped this in:

“Obidients in the United Kingdom gave the Labour Party their maximum votes. Peter Obi called, & Obidients in the UK answered.

“That is how you flex your muscle on the world stage. Rishi Sunak is foreclosed!”

@Tonyajah added:

“HE Peter Obi is a true leader who commands huge respect and followership. Nigeria knows it, Africa knows it, and the world knows it too.
Congratulations to Labour Party!”
