The Best Book Series for Kids, Grades 1 to 7

Remember those childhood days of binge-reading a favorite series like Nancy Drew? Book series give us so many rewards — least of all, not having to find another book to read because you still have 10 more in the series! With so many good choices, what are the best book series for your elementary and middle school readers? Keep reading on to see book lists by grade!

Getting kids hooked on a chapter book or middle-grade book series keeps them reading stories that they love because they don’t have to worry (for a while) about picking another book after finishing the first book. They can continue reading in the series, and that means time on the page, in the story, loving words and stories, and improving reading skills.

It is always disappointing when the subsequent books in a book series aren’t as good as the first. Don’t worry, I will not recommend those series. Like you, I’m always terribly disappointed when that happens.
