Arsenal are on the hunt for an attacker this summer, and a new report could inspire Mikel Arteta to use similar methods once used on Leroy Sane to create a new superstar forward.

It’s been a quiet transfer window so far for the Gunners, with Arsenal linked with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, before those rumours quickly died, when the attacker signed a new contract with the Bundesliga club.

Since then, concrete reports linking Arsenal to an attacker have gone into hibernation, with Victor Osimhen and Pedro Neto the two players who have been linked to the Gunners in a credible fashion in recent days.

Yet an update this week could inspire Arteta to make a move for a UEFA Champions League finalist who could be perfect for Arsenal.

Borussia Dortmund open to Karim Adeyemi sale as Arsenal seek attacker

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Borussia Dortmund will this summer listen to offers for Karim Adeyemi in the region of €30m (£25m), with the UEFA Champions League finalists keen to raise funds to bring Jadon Sancho back on a permanent deal.

Once labelled as a ‘difference-maker’ by RB Leipzig’s former sporting director Christoph Freund, Adeyemi’s move to Dortmund hasn’t worked out as many have envisioned, with the attacker’s missed one-on-one against Real Madrid a perfect summary of the forward’s time back in Germany.

Moreover, five goals in all competitions this season is quite a pitiful return for a forward who was once viewed as the next leading man for Germany’s attack, with Adeyemi making his debut for Die Meinschafft as a teenager.

Indeed, it’s obvious that Adeyemi is in need of a career restart, and in Arsenal, the versatile attacker could find just given, with Arteta also the dream manager to get the Munich-born talent back on his feet at the highest level.

Arteta can do to Adeyemi at Arsenal what he did to Sane at Manchester City

Arteta is often credited as playing a key role in Sane’s development at Manchester City and helping the German international transform from a promising winger into one of the best attackers in world football.

And in Adeyemi, who is two years older than Sane when he initially joined City alongside Arteta in 2016, the Arsenal manager could have his next attacking project, with the Dortmund man clearly in line for a change of scenery this summer.

With the Black and Yellow also demanding just £25m for Adeyemi, Arsenal would be foolish not to move for the 22-year-old attacker this summer, who under Arteta could become the missing piece of the forward line the Gunners have been looking for this window.
