There are so many streaming platforms out there now that it can be tricky to remember which is which, and where your favourite movies and shows are.

You hop on one to watch your comfort show, only to realise it's no longer there and you have no idea how to keep watching it.

On top of that, a number of the platforms have gone through what might be described as 'ens**ttification', where the service has gone downhill in recent years.

More than one popular platform has introduced adverts to paying customers and some of them aren't even letting customers pay less to put up with ads.

On top of that, subscription prices have climbed steadily higher over the past few years and for their trouble audiences have seen a plethora of shows cancelled before their stories are fully told, leading it to become a running joke among some viewers.

Some of them have even said they'd go so far as to cancel their subscriptions.

Now Brits are going to get another streaming platform to add to the pile, but this one doesn't actually require them to pay anything.

This is Tubi, which is owned by Fox and hosts around 20,000 movies and TV shows with the money made through adverts.

Of course when you're sitting down to watch something for the evening and deciding whether it's Tubi or not Tubi will depend on the content.

There's no point in a streaming platform with nothing worth watching, and as one might expect with a free streaming service there are a great many titles there which you won't recognise and back in the day would have occupied the bargain bin bucket of your local supermarket.

However, there's also some genuine gems nestled in and among the freebies you'd rather ignore.

The Kill Bill films are available for free, while fans of the Twilight movies are also in luck as they've got plenty of sparkly vampire movies for your enjoyment.

If you're really set on watching it then they've also got Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, though it's not exactly received rave reviews.

Foodies can enjoy documentaries from the late, great Anthony Bourdain, and shows from Britain's beloved Mary Berry.

Fans of the noughties can enjoy a couple of seasons of Mythbusters to whet their appetite for fun as well.

Tubi can be viewed on an app, their website and some SmartTVs will also be able to stream shows and films from the platform.
