As the summer season approaches its end, Healthy Savannah is urging adults in the local community to prioritize their health by getting vaccinated. The Coastal Health District is currently providing free vaccines for adults without insurance until November 30. If you're unsure if you qualify for a no-cost vaccine, contact your local county health department to schedule an appointment.

In light of a potential surge in COVID-19 cases, Healthy Savannah stresses the importance of staying updated on vaccinations. Elsie Smalls, Ph.D., operations manager at Healthy Savannah, is advocating for early immunization to avoid a spike in infections during the summer months.
Local Offering of No-Cost COVID-19 Vaccines
Various healthcare providers in the area are currently administering no-cost COVID-19 vaccines until August 31. The Coastal Health District's Eisenhower Clinic, J. C. Lewis Primary Health Care, and several CVS and Walgreens locations are participating in this initiative.
Warning Signs of COVID-19 Resurgence
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Georgia and several other states are showing signs of increased virus activity. Wastewater testing has revealed rising levels of SARS-COV-2, indicating a potential surge in infections. It's crucial for individuals to take preventive measures and stay vigilant.
