3 players at fault for Trossard opener — not just Petrovic

Arsenal broke the deadlock in the fourth minute against Chelsea. Trossard scored, assisted by Declan Rice.

The Blues fans and commentators were quick to point to Djordje Petrovic's mistake. He let the goal in cheaply as the ball squeezed between his legs.

But it's not only the keeper who's at fault for Arsenal's opener.

When Rice was receiving the ball, https://tribuna.com/en/persons/moises-caicedo-corozo/ lost his position and allowed the Englishman a lot of room. The Chelsea midfielder could have gotten tighter with Rice but he didn't track back at full speed.

Then Alfie Gilchrist was caught in a poor position. He was in a sort of a half-position, neither trying to win the ball from Rice nor covering Trossard. It allowed Rice to pass the ball to the Belgian.

This position meant that Alfie could not get tighter on Trossard when he was taking a shot. He then who then slotted the ball past Petrovic.
