Cloud Resources Most Targeted in Cyber Attacks in India: Study

A multinational firm's study has revealed a significant threat to cloud resources in India. The study found that cloud resources are the most targeted in cyber attacks in the country. With increasing dependence on cloud storage for data storage, this poses a significant risk. The study, conducted by Thales, surveyed 3,000 IT and security professionals across 18 countries and 37 industries.

According to the study, cloud storage security is a major concern, with 46% of respondents stating that their corporate data stored in the cloud is sensitive. The study also found that 37% of organizations in India have experienced a cloud data breach, with 14% experiencing a breach in the past year.

The main causes of cloud service breaches were human error (34%), unknown vulnerabilities (32%), and misconfiguration (21%). Cybercriminals are taking advantage of these weaknesses to target cloud storage.

Cloud storage is a type of online storage where users can store files, documents, videos, and other data. This data is stored in large data centers and can be accessed from any device with an internet connection. Popular cloud storage services include Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, iCloud, and Amazon Drive. The study highlights the need for increased security measures to protect cloud resources, as the dependence on cloud storage continues to grow.
