Vice President Kashim Shettima is billed to flag off the rebuilding of Tudun Biri village of Igabi local government area of Kaduna state under the Pulako Initiative.

Recall, a military drone had on the 3rd December,2023 bombed some residents of the area who were celebrating the Maulud Nabiyyi (the birthday of Prophet Muhammad).

As a result of the attack, 80 people were reportedly killed while dozens sustained serious injuries. It was gathered that the Government both at state and federal levels, thereafter, promised to rebuild the community and pay compensation to families of the deceased and injured victims.

Thus ahead of the flag-off ceremony for the rebuilding project of Tudun Biri, the Kaduna State Government, has commenced documentation to enable it pay compensation to owners’ lands to be used for the rebuilding project.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima is expected to flag off the rebuilding of the village on Friday under the Federal Government Pulako Initiative.

While construction of the road leading to the village from the Kaduna Intersection Airport, a hospital and a skill acquisition centre have reached advanced stages, the building of houses and other infrastructures are to be flagged on Friday by the Vice President.

As of Thursday, officials of the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) were at Tudun Biri to carry documentation of the lands to be used for the projects.

Leading the KADGIS delegation, Deputy Director Land Administration, Abdullahi Tukur said, “We are here to identify and document those whose lands have been taken to execute these projects. We are doing this documentation so that the Government will compensate the land owners.

“Not minding the fact that the people whose lands are been taken for these projects are still going to be the direct beneficiaries of the projects, yet our amiable Governor, Senator Uba Sani directed us to come and do the documentation, so that, every land owner can be compensated.

“These forms that we came with are what we call verification forms. Every land owner whose field is being taken for these projects will fill the form. We are going to record their names, addresses, the size of their field, the location of the field and other necessary information.

“There is also a space for the Village Head or District Head of the area to fill, to authenticate that, the land actually belongs to the claimants,” he explained.
