Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt is keen to join Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has struggled for game time at Bayern Munich this season and that has led to alot of speculation in the media suggesting that Bayern may be open to the idea of letting him leave this January window.
Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the Dutch defender over the past few months, but were recently knocked back after former boss Thomas Tuchel revealed that the big man would no be leaving in the winter window.
However – the Sky Sports Germany have claimed that Bayern may be open to letting De Ligt leave the club this transfer window – when they will have more of an opportunity to find an immediate replacement for the Dutchman.
And they will accept bids of around £42million for the former Ajax man and reports on the Football.London website have claimed that De Ligt’s camp has spoken to the likes of Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal about a potential move to the Premier League.
Now according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, De Ligt has given the “green light” for a move to Manchester United to happen. Personal terms are “not an issue” as the centre-back’s agent Rafaela Pimenta is only negotiating with United, which is a priority for him.
The Red Devils and Bayern will soon hold talks regarding the “deal structure”.

Tom Heaton has signed a new one-year deal with Manchester United, and he has admitted that he is delighted with the new deal.
The 38-year-old goalkeeper came through the ranks at Old Trafford and, after spells with Cardiff, Bristol City, Burnley and Aston Villa, returned to the club in 2021, but there were some reports that Man United would be open to letting him leave the club for free this summer.
However – the Manchester United board made the decision to keep hold of Heaton and he has now agreed a new deal at the club that will allow him to keep on playing, while gaining his coaching badges over the next 12 months.
Heaton has won three England caps and is currently working as a training goalkeeper with Gareth Southgate’s squad at Euro 2024
Heaton is doing his coaching badges but still feels able to compete at the highest level, with the goalkeeper staying at United to compete with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.

UNITED FAVOURITES TO SIGN ZIRKZEE –
Manchester United are rated favourites to land reported Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee it has been claimed today.
Manchester United really struggled for goals last season and it almost cost Erik Ten Hag his job at Old Trafford – but that stunning FA Cup win kept him in his role as boss of the Red Devils.
Zirkzee scored 12 goals in all competitions last season and provided seven assists and his performances for the Italian giants has led to alot of speculation that a number of clubs are very interested in getting a transfer deal done.
Zirkzee who has a £34million release clause had been targeted by Italian giants AC Milan who were deemed the frontrunners to recruit the 23-year-old.
But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the transfer has stalled with Milan amid hefty agent demands – And new reports from Italy suggest Manchester United are now the favourites to land Zirkzee but will have to wait until after Euro 2024 to finalise any deal.
The reports come after Bologna’s technical director, Giovanni Sartori, confirmed that the club have already been working on signing a replacement for the 23-year-old: ‘Zirkzee has a clause so he will leave 99.9 per cent,’ Sartori told Sky Sport Italia on Monday evening.
‘We have been thinking about his replacement for months.
‘It won’t be easy but we will work to replace him, we already have some names, some ideas.’

Zirkzee is a talented young striker – but is he any better than Rasmus Hojlund? probably not. but he would add some more depth to that attack. But it will be interesting to see if the Red Devils truly wants the lad as there has been so much speculation and rumours over a possible deal.
