After changing his international allegiance from England, Ademola Lookman finally connected with the Super Eagles fans at the AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire when he finished as the team’s joint top scorer with three goals.

The AFCON was a very important tournament for Lookman to make a good impression as the Super Eagles made it all the way to the championship game.

Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman was Nigeria’s joint-top scorer along with AFCON MVP William Ekong.

 Lookman was in fine form at the tournament, netting three times for the Super Eagles and even creating numerous chances including Nigeria’s first goal in Cote d’Ivoire.

He spoke on his fine form at the AFCON, as exclusively monitored by SCORENigeria

“My favourite goal was the second goal against Cameroon, it gave me goose bumps, my parents were watching on,” he revealed.

While the opening group game against Equatorial Guinea was his most tensed because of the hot weather.

“I would say the Equatorial Guinea game, we played at 2pm, the weather was tough,” he replied when he was asked.

He was also asked on how it felt to be the joint highest goalscorer for Nigeria in his first-ever AFCON tournament and the ex-Leicester attacker said;

“Very happy, obviously as an attacking player, we always want to help the team by doing that and the team was amazing, everyone helped out,” he said..

“It was amazing, first tournament with the team, it was something I really, really enjoyed.”

The 26-year old fleet-footed attacker is currently on the verge of lifting the Europa League with his Serie A side as he continues in his blistering form.
