The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced a 4-day fasting and prayer session, set to commence on May 2nd and end on May 5th, in response to the recent deaths in the Nigerian film industry.

The spiritual activity will be led by Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International Church.

Emeka Rollas, the guild’s national president, made the announcement on April 22nd, emphasizing the need for divine intervention in light of the tragic boat accident that claimed the lives of five active practitioners, including John Paul Odonwodo, also known as Jnr Pope.

Additionally, the Nollywood industry has recently mourned the loss of well-known actors Amaechi Muonagor and John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, to illness.

In his statement, Rollas called on all Nollywood fans to participate in the program, stressing the importance of prayer in preventing further losses in the industry.

He expressed concern over the deaths of Nollywood members and the need to reclaim the spiritual airways and highways that seem to have been hijacked by certain powers.

Pastor Jerry Eze, a prominent Nigerian pastor known for his powerful prayer sessions and teachings, will lead the spiritual activity.

The initiative aims to unite the Nollywood community in prayer and fasting, seeking God’s intervention to address the recent tragedies.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria’s decision to organize this event reflects the deep-rooted spiritual beliefs in the country and the industry’s commitment to finding solace and strength in the face of adversity.

As Nollywood continues to mourn the loss of its members, the fasting and prayer session is expected to serve as a unifying and healing experience for all those involved.
