All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) has hailed Dr Muhammad Sani Idris’s well-deserved appointment as executive secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education.

ANCOPSS national president, Alhaji Muhammad Ibn Musa, made this known when he led members of the association from Yobe State on a courtesy visit to Idris in Abuja.

He expressed optimism that the executive secretary’s wealth of experience would revitalise efforts to address almajiri and out-of-school children’s education in Nigeria, just as he did in Yobe State during his tenure as Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.

Musa thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing one of their own.

Similarly, the Association of Qur’anic Memorizers and Traditional Islamic Schools of Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to Idris, with the national chairman, Gwani Sulaiman Mai Zube Kabala, pledging cooperation to achieve the commission’s mandate.

He said the almajiri had long been neglected in Nigeria, particularly in education, and expressed hope for positive change.

Responding, Idris thanked both associations for their support and pledged to work tirelessly to address the issue of almajiri and out-of-school children in Nigeria.
