A 20-year-old Beaver Dam man is in the Dodge County Jail after a chase on July 4, according to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.The sheriff's office said they began investigating a road rage threat on Thursday. According to their initial information, the 20-year-old man chased the complainant in their car, then ignited and threw fireworks at them. The 20-year-old man eventually flashed a firearm as well. A description of the 20-year-old man's vehicle was provided. The vehicle was eventually found near Keller Boulevard and Park Avenue in Beaver Dam.Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled, and a chase began, according to the sheriff's office. The 20-year-old man eventually drove outside of the city. The man stopped on County Highway A. He later removed a firearm, ammunition, and a holster, and discarded them into the water and surrendered at the side of the road.The firearm was eventually found in the water after a long search, according to the sheriff's office. The 20-year-old Beaver Dam man was taken to the Dodge County Jail. The sheriff's office and police are requesting charges for vehicle operator felony flee/elude, recklessly endangering safety, possession of marijuana second or subsequent offense, carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct with the use of a dangerous weapon and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.There is no danger to the public at this time, according to the sheriff's office. The Beaver Dam Police Department also helped in this incident.
