Cardi B on Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over 'Enough (Miami)'

Cardi B Faces Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Over Hit Song ‘Enough (Miami)’: Cardi B has been hit with a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement over her US Top 10 hit ‘‘.

Musicians Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, also known as Kemika1956, filed the lawsuit in Texas on Wednesday, July 3. They claim that Cardi B’s song copies their track ‘Greasy Frybread.’ According to the lawsuit, Fraustro and Aguilar composed ‘Greasy Frybread’ in 2021, and it was released by Tattoo Muzik Group Studios on November 9, 2021.

Fraustro and Aguilar assert that their song “gained significant recognition” and was featured in a promo for the popular FX series “Reservation Dogs.” Cardi B’s ‘Enough (Miami)’ was released over two and a half years later in March 2023 through Atlantic Records and has since been streamed over 46.2 million times on Spotify.

The track reached No. 9 on the US Hot 100 chart.

The lawsuit alleges that the defendants “have infringed plaintiffs’ copyright in the musical composition ‘Greasy Frybread’ by reproducing, distributing, and publicly performing the infringing work.”
